West Covina Department Investigates Fatal Traffic Collision
DATE OF RELEASE: Sunday, January 16, 2022
On Saturday, January 15, 2022, at approximately 5:58 am, officers received a call regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian in the area of the 3000 block of Valley Ave. The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, Walnut Sheriff’s were first on the scene and remained there until the West Covina Police units arrived. The unidentified female sustained head trauma and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The West Covina Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene to handle the investigation. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The cause of the collision is still ongoing, however, no foul play is suspected. The identification of the decedent will be handled by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
