The National Weather Service reports that a strong storm system will move through the area beginning Sunday evening through Monday afternoon, which is expected to include brief snowfall before changing over to a wintry mix and heavy rain. Wind gusts of up to 40 MPH are also expected.

The Department of Public Works is salting main roads, hills, and known problem areas this afternoon in anticipation of the storm. Residents are advised to secure all outdoor furniture and garbage/recycling bins. Zone 1 recycling currently remains on schedule for Monday's collection; residents in this zone are asked to secure all recyclables inside a closed container and, if possible, wait until Monday morning to place items curbside. Collection begins at 6:00 AM.
