Main Street - from Broadway to Church Street Closed for snow removal efforts. 
The Forest City Police Department would like to advise the public that Main Street from Broadway to Chruch Street is closed. The roadway is closed to assist in snow removal efforts that are being conducted by the Forest City Public Works and Streets Departments.
Your patience is appreciated and another announcement will be made when the roadway is reopened.

Main Street has be reopened following the snow removal.
As the day progresses travel is still difficult in many places in the community. Both NC DOT and Town of Forest City employees are working diligently to restore travel to normal. Therefore, it is suggested that any travel be limited to urgently needed travel only. The roadways will re-freeze tonight as temperatures drop and cause significant travel problems.
