Supervisor Barger & City of Lancaster offer $20,000 reward for info leading to arrest of attempted murder suspect.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for a shooting that took place in December 2021 in the City of Lancaster. Today, the City of Lancaster announced an additional $10,000 reward, for a total of $20,000.
On December 3, 2021 at approximately 3:10am, a car to car shooting took place. Jason Castillo was first shot while in his vehicle near the intersection of Challenger Way and Avenue K. Injured, Mr. Castillo was able to make his way to the Shell Gas Station and dialed 9-1-1. As Mr. Castillo laid on the ground, on the phone with a 9-1-1 operator, the suspect drove around, approached Mr. Castillo and shot him point blank in the head.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic adult. He was wearing a green shirt, black baseball hat possibly with an “LA” logo, black shorts, white socks and black shoes. He was driving a white 4 door BMW, possibly a 3 series, with tinted windows and gray rims.
The vehicle has major traffic collision damage to the front driver headlight and front passenger fender. The pictures attached to this release are pictures of the actual suspect vehicle.
