MERIDIAN- After two months of investigation, Meridian Police Department located and arrested suspect Brian ROBERTSON, 29 of Caldwell on January 18, 2022 after a string of part thefts from recreational vehicles (RV’s) in the Treasure Valley.
Meridian Police Department began receiving multiple reports of RV part thefts occurring in the area of Ten Mile and Ustick in early October. Mid-October police were alerted to a suspicious vehicle driving on an access road to a storage facility in Meridian. They were alerted again to a suspicious vehicle matching the original suspicious vehicle description on the evening of November 04, 2021 at a storage facility located on the 3000 block of Ten Mile Road. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with ROBERTSON. While exiting his vehicle, he dropped an item determined to be drug paraphernalia to the ground. Multiple items previously reported stolen were also identified in the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, officers were able to determine that ROBERTSON was leasing two storage units, one located at each storage facility that had reported part thefts. A warrant was served on November 10, 2021 on both storage units where over an estimated $24,000 worth of stolen property was recovered. Property dating back to 2016 was able to be returned to its rightful owners.
After reviewing evidence provided by Meridian Police Department’s Property Crimes Detectives, the Ada County Prosecutors Office issued a warrant for ROBERTSON’S arrest however at that time ROBERTSON was not able to be located. Officers eventually found him after an off-duty officer reported a male later identified as Brian ROBERTSON sleeping in the front seat of his vehicle. Drug paraphernalia and pills later identified as oxycodone were also found during the arrest of ROBERTSON.
Brian ROBERTSON was arrested and transported to the Ada County Jail on the following charges: five (5) counts Felony Burglary, five (5) counts Felony Grand Theft, three (3) counts Felony Malicious Injury to Property, one (1) county Felony Possession of Controlled Substance, one (1) count Misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence, and one (1) count Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia- Use or Possess with Intent to Use.
