Winter Weather Advisory until 01:00AM Saturday

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.

* WHERE...Along the Richardson Highway south of Tonsina and along the Edgerton Highway to Chitina. Freezing rain may spread northward to Glennallen Friday night.

* WHEN...From 8 AM Friday to 1 AM AKST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Driving may become dangerous. Initial snow may promote reduced visibility followed by icy conditions. Which may result in downed power lines and falling tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop south of Glennallen by Friday morning. The heaviest snow is expected along the Richardson Highway south of Tonsina. Snow is expected to change over to freezing rain Friday afternoon as warm southerly winds develop. The freezing rain is expected to be light with downsloping bringing an end to most precipitation through the morning hours on Saturday.
