Man Arrested for Committing Multiple Grand Larcenies
Suffolk County Police yesterday arrested a man in Shirley for six Grand Larcenies as well as multiple other felonies.
Following an investigation by Fifth Squad detectives, Salvatore Paulette was determined to be responsible for six incidents of theft of electrical wire from the Patchogue and Bellport Home Depot stores between September 2021 and January 2022.
Detectives attempted to arrest Paulette in a commercial parking lot located at The Green, south of Roberts Road, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Paulette forcibly resisted and attempted to steal a detectives’ gun before fleeing on foot. He was apprehended by Seventh Precinct Patrol officers who had responded to the area to assist detectives.
Paulette, 32, of 171 Hounslow Drive, Shirley, was charged with four counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, two counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree, two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. He is being held at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned later today at First District Court in Central Islip.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
