Press Release: Subjects arrested following vehicle pursuit and motor vehicle crash

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Lt William Hulse, Lt Matt Sharin, Sgt Brian Egan, Ptl Vincent Volek, Ptl Jon Losquadro, Ptl Jeff Kless, Ptl Dan Maguire.
NARRATIVE:
On January 24, 2022 at approximately 0730 hours this agency was alerted of a possible vehicle pursuit entering our jurisdiction. Just prior to this an Asbury Park Police Officer observed a motor vehicle violation occur in their jurisdiction and attempted to stop the accused vehicle. The vehicle then took off at a high rate of speed and was subsequently observed by an Allenhurst officer entering their jurisdiction. The Allenhurst officer also attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle then lost control and crashed in the area of Monmouth Drive and Atlantic Ave in the Borough of Deal.
Both occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot. One was immediately apprehended following a brief foot pursuit and the second subject was later found in a backyard of a nearby home. Both subjects were transported to Asbury Park Police Headquarters for processing.
