INCIDENT: Fatal, Single Vehicle Collision
LOCATION: I-15 Freeway Exit & North D Street, Victorville
VICTIM(S): Efstratios Maloutas, 29-year-old Victorville Resident
SUMMARY: On Monday, January 24, 2022, at approximately 11:29 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department, along with personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle crash near the I-15 Freeway off-ramp and D Street. Upon arrival, deputies located a 2017 Nissan 370Z in a dirt field north of D Street. The driver of the 2017, Nissan 370Z, identified as Efstratios Maloutas, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies with the Victorville Stations Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and assumed the investigation. Through the investigation, it was determined Maloutas had been traveling northwest on D Street. He drove at high speeds, struck a curb, and drove off the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in the dirt field. The investigation is ongoing.
