The Cranbury Township Police Department wishes to alert all residents of recent crime trends currently occurring in neighboring jurisdictions. Crime crews continue to travel to our area with the intention of committing burglaries and thefts.

In most instances, multiple suspects are observed. These individuals work in groups within residential neighborhoods. Unlocked vehicles are targeted. If the keys are found to be inside of an unlocked vehicle, the vehicle is taken. Furthermore, the suspects are using garage door openers found inside the targeted vehicle and using same to gain access to the home. Once inside, suspects target keys to other vehicles parked at the home along with loose cash, jewelry, pocketbooks and electronics.

These incidents have been occurring during all days of the week, primarily between the early morning hours of 2:00 and 5:00 AM. All of the burglarized homes have been occupied, with the occupants asleep inside.

We cannot stress enough the importance of recognizing that these incidents are occurring. This notice is not meant to entice fear but this Township is not immune to incidents like this. Please take all precautions to safeguard your homes and vehicles.

Be vigilant, be safe and immediately report all suspicious activity to the Cranbury Township Police Department.
