Winter Storm –Thursday PM Update
Winter Storm –Thursday PM Update
*Forecast (via Tri-State Storm Watch)*
A coastal snowstorm is on the way for Friday night through Sunday morning. Beginning Friday around midnight, we are expecting to see widespread snow throughout Neptune becoming heavy at times. Temperatures in the 20’s overnight and on Saturday morning will mean snow will quickly accumulate on most surfaces. Snow will continue through Saturday as temperatures drop into the teens and strong winds up to 40mph pick up. Snow is expected to move away from our area by Saturday evening. Total accumulations of 6-12” are expected for Monmouth and Ocean Counties with less in the western and northern parts of NJ. Moderate coastal flooding in typically flood-prone areas along South Riverside Drive and South/West Concourse is also likely during the 5:00am/5:00pm high tides. Small changes to the path of the storm could cause less or more snow, so please continue to monitor your local weather forecast as it approaches. Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid travel during the storm as much as possible to allow DPW room to clear the roads.
*Snow Parking Regulations*
Beginning Friday at 7:00pm and continuing through Sunday at 7:00pm a Snow Emergency has been declared. Snow parking regulations are in effect during this time. It is recommended that residents utilize off-street parking wherever possible. For the majority of Neptune Township, this means you are only permitted to park on the odd-numbered sides of the street. For most of Ocean Grove, there is no parking where indicated by signs or where otherwise indicated in the snow parking ordinances, which can be found here: https://neptunetownship.org/articles/snow-emergency-message
