Since August 2021, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s office has been investigating complainants that have come in regarding the Paws Ranch Equine Rescue.
During this investigation, numerous-different complaints have been investigated.
On September 23rd , 2021 Deputy McClung met with the District Attorney’s office on the complaints of neglect. The District Attorney’s office advised that there wasn’t enough evidence to substantiate charges.
Since this date numerous other complaints and interviews have been investigated.
On January 26, 2022 at around 09:00 hours a search warrant for neglected horses and a missing horse was executed at Walls Church Rd.
Attending were deputies from Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Rutherford County Animal Control, and a large animal veterinarian from another county.
It was determined there were no animals suffering from starvation. The veterinarian advised there were a couple of horses that could use some medical attention and would forward this in her report. Once the report is received, the results of that investigation will be forwarded to District Attorney’s office.
The investigation is still ongoing.
