REMINDER FROM THE DIVISION OF POLICE:

Street Parking Prohibited for Snow Plowing

Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the streets, an emergency shall exist and no vehicle shall be parked on the streets.

The parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased, until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.

Mayor Amato would like to remind residents of the following information:

POWER OUTAGES:
If a power outage occurs call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), or go to www.jcp-l.com.
Follow JCP&L on Twitter @JCP_L or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/JCPand L

In the event of downed utility wires, you should immediately report them to JCP&L at the number above and the Berkeley Township Police Department at 732-341-6600. Residents should never go near a downed power line, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity.

Residents should take necessary measures to secure all of your loose items on your property. Such as patio furniture, chairs, tables, sporting equipment, awnings, etc.

Please make sure you have sufficient food and water supply along with medications you may need over a few days. Check on your neighbors, including the elderly. If you have to venture out during the snow, although we do not recommend it, please remove all snow from your car, especially the hood of your vehicle, before driving.

Residents in low lying areas that frequently flood, can use the upper parking lot at the Berkeley Recreation Center or the lower lot at the Central Regional Middle School for vehicles.

Please be advised due to the nature of the BLIZZARD and it’s anticipated accumulation of 8-12 inches, it could take up to 24 hours to clear ALL roadways in Berkeley Township. Please keep in mind, we have 271 miles of roadway to clear, in addition to nearly 300 Courts, Cul-de-sacs and dead end streets.

In case of an EMERGENCY dial 9-1-1.

We thank you in advance, for your understanding and cooperation.
