Fentanyl Dealers Arrested, Drugs Seized
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has been responding to an increased amount of drug overdoses throughout the County with some unfortunately resulting in death. Fentanyl, which is lethal in very small quantities, has been the primary cause of these deaths. In Rutherford County, the most common way that the Sheriff’s Office has seen Fentanyl distributed is by pressed counterfeit pills that contain Fentanyl.
Due to the severe and dangerous nature Fentanyl, and the continued increase in overdose deaths from the use of this drug in our communities, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to combat this problem plaguing the County.
Over the past three months, the Sheriff’s Office Unified Narcotics Task Force (UNTF) has located and dismantled three clandestine Fentanyl labs and multiple Fentanyl dealers in Rutherford County. One of these labs was located within 1,000 feet of a Rutherford County Public School.

- 4,409 pressed Fentanyl pills
- 3 Fentanyl Pill Presses
- $ 25,021 in U.S Currency
- 6 Firearms (AK-47 Pistol, 4 Glock handguns, Springfield Armory Handgun )

There are numerus Fentanyl cases awaiting federal prosecution that stemmed from these investigations and arrests. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all of its Federal and State partners who assisted in these cases.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office also would like to thank the public for it's help in these matters. Please watch after your loved ones. This is a very dangerous and deadly drug. These pressed pills can be made to look like legal, prescribed medication. Xanax pills are usually blue or yellow in color, and those are the pill colors we are seeing produced and distributed from these illegal clandestine labs.
