Important Information - Pending Storm
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PENDING STORM We are preparing for a major snow storm beginning this evening and lasting through Saturday afternoon. Based on the current forecast, the impacts to our area have the potential to be significant. Expect the possibility of power outages, down trees along with wires and possible road closures. Residents are reminded that leaving your vehicle in the roadway during snowing operations is prohibited. Removing your vehicle prior to snowfall will allow our Public Works crews to keep those roadways passable for emergency vehicles during the height of this storm. Snow plowing operations will begin when snow accumulation reaches approximately 2” and priority during the snow event will be to keep our major arteries accessible for emergency vehicles. Once snow fall ends, snow plowing operations will continue and priority will be to widen access to those major arteries as well begin to clear out all secondary roadways and side streets. Vehicles parked on the street are subject to a summons and being towed. Depositing or throwing snow onto the street is also prohibited; do not shovel, plow or otherwise place snow onto the roadway. Please remove garbage and/or recycling cans along with basketball hoops from the street. We realize this cleared area is an enticing location to place these items, but it creates a hazard as they could get hit by vehicles or taken away by snowplows. Now is also the time to check generators and snowblowers for proper operation. Always keep generators away from windows and doors and never operate them in enclosed spaces. Please also check in on your neighbors, especially the elderly or those that might need assistance. Don’t wait for your neighbor to need help to be a good friend. As always we are here if you need us… non emergencies 609) 693-4007 or 911 for emergencies. We will continue to monitor this storm and provide updates throughout. - Chief Michal Rogalski
