South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management - Winter Storm Update
The South Brunswick Township Office of Emergency Management is monitoring a potentially significant storm system, which is expected to affect us late tonight and last through Saturday afternoon.
We're expecting an initial start of snow between 6 and 9 PM this evening and turning heavy at times, producing an inch per hour. The snow is expected to continue until mid-afternoon on Saturday. Heavy wind gusts may affect distribution of snow accumulations.
Depending on the final track of the storm, we are expecting total accumulations of 4 to 11 inches. Winds are expected to gust as high as 35 mph.
What you should do:
*Remove trash and recycling cans from the street, and park vehicles in your driveway so that snow removal crews can work efficiently and effectively.
*Secure loose items which may blow away in heavy wind gusts.
*Stay home until the storm is over and roadways have been cleared if you can. If you must travel, leave extra time to reach your destination, and drive with caution.
*Be prepared to remove snow from sidewalks after the storm has passed so that pedestrians may walk safely.
