Advisory

Storm Alert

In anticipation for the impending snow storm, Governor Murphy has issued a State of Emergency effective 5:00PM today. The Linwood Police Department is asking our residents for your cooperation and support as we work to keep our roadways safe and clear. Please remove your vehicles from roadways to allow plows and emergency vehicles to pass. Additionally, there are many streets in the City designated as "Snow Emergency No-parking Areas", per city ordinance 263-4(E).

The "Snow Emergencies No-Parking Areas" ordinance states, "Whenever snow has fallen, and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, an emergency shall exist, and no vehicle shall be parked on the following streets or highways or portions thereof:"

The following streets fall with the Snow emergency no-parking areas:

Central Avenue - Entire length

Greenwich Avenue - Shore Road to Wabash Avenue

Maple Avenue - Shore Road to Wabash Avenue

Oak Avenue - Entire length

Patcong Avenue - Shore Road to New Road (U.S. Route 9)

Poplar Avenue - Entire length

Seaview Avenue - Shore Road to New Road (U.S. Route 9)

Wabash Avenue - Oak Avenue to Patcong Avenue

Wabash Ave (East & West) - Seaview Avenue to Kirkland Avenue

West Avenue - New Road (U.S. Route 9) to Ocean Heights Avenue

West Avenue - Patcong Avenue to Seaview Avenue

The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal traffic flow.

Removing vehicles from the roadways makes snow removal safer and more efficient while also helping to create faster response times for emergency vehicles.

The latest weather predictions are 9-18" of snow. There will be strong winds up to 35MPH. PLEASE avoid travel during the storm period unless it's essential.

We would like to emphasize that residents needing services call 609-927-5252 and use 911 for emergencies only.

Thank you for your cooperation. Stay safe!
