Winter Storm Kenan – Saturday PM Update

Winter Storm Kenan – Saturday PM Update

Forecast (via Tri-State Storm Watch):

Snow has ended in all areas. 16.2 inches is the final storm total in Neptune. The jackpot area of the storm was along the coast in northern and central Ocean County where several spots recorded 20 inches. Under clearing skies tonight, lows will reach about 10 degrees. Sunny skies on Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 20s. Temperatures will be above freezing on Monday. There will be very mild temps on Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the mid-40s to low 50.

Recommendations:

• Public Works is fully staffed and will be on the road all night clearing Neptune’s streets. Please be patient and stay off the roads as much as possible to ensure the roads can be cleared.
• Snow Parking Regulations are still in effect and vehicles should be parked off the street if possible. A copy of the regulations can be found here: https://neptunetownship.org/departments/weather-emergencies
• Temperatures are dropping quickly and causing icing underneath the snow, so please use extra caution when walking or driving.
• Use caution if you are going out to clear your property. Even though this is mostly light snow, take frequent breaks from shoveling to avoid injury and wear appropriate clothing.
