Winter Storm Kenan - Sunday AM Update

Winter Storm Kenan - Sunday AM Update

In Neptune Township as of this morning, we’ve received over 16” of snow with areas of drifts several feet high in some spots caused by yesterday’s blizzard conditions. Today’s weather will be significantly warmer than yesterday, which combined with the abundant sunshine will contribute to melting roads. Our Public Works crews have been on the road around the clock since Friday, and remain out in full force with over 20 plows, loaders, and other specialty equipment this morning. It is critical for residents to continue to be patient and keep in mind that the amount of snow we received, the rate in which it fell (1-3” per hour), the bitter cold temperatures, and the strong winds have created a challenging cleanup situation in Neptune. DPW is now focusing on the widening of all roads to ensure they are safe for motorists by the Monday morning rush hour. The widening of streets from curb to curb may unfortunately cause the foot of some driveways to be plowed in. In addition, plowing curb to curb may be challenging in some locations depending on the size of the street as there may be nowhere to push the snow due to the amount and depth. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as our crews work to widen the streets to allow for safe travel and parking.

Please see below for some tips and contact information:
