WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...A wintry mix, will quickly transition to moderate to
heavy snow. Initial snowfall accumulations on Wednesday of 3 to
5 inches, with an additional round of 3 to 6 inches of
snowfall, Wednesday evening. Ice accumulations of a light glaze
possible early Wednesday.
* WHERE...Portions of Central, South Central and Southeast
Kansas.
* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The
cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in
hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Near white out conditions are possible
across southeast Kansas for Wednesday evening, due to heavy
snowfall and blowing snow.
