* WHAT...A wintry mix, will will quickly transition to moderate to heavy snow by Wednesday morning. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches. Only a very light glaze of ice is possible during the transition from rain to snow early Wednesday morning.

* WHERE...Portions of Central and Southeast Kansas.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to noon CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Near white out conditions are possible across southeast Kansas on Wednesday into Wednesday night, due to heavy snowfall and blowing snow. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero Wednesday night into Thursday morning could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
