Williamston Snow Emergency - On-street parking is temporarily prohibited from Feb 2 at 7:00am until Friday Feb 4 at 7:00am
The City of Williamston has declared a snow emergency due to the winter storm forecasted to result in significant accumulations in the mid-Michigan area over the next two days.
The snow emergency will be in effect beginning February 2, at 7:00am through February 4, at 7:00am. During this time on-street parking will be prohibited per Section 66-148 of the Williamston Code of Ordinances to aid in more effective snow plowing operations by the City Department of Public Works.
Community members are encouraged to drive for the conditions and avoid unnecessary travel.
Residents are also reminded of the City's snow and ice removal ordinance for sidewalks. All snow and ice shall be removed within 24 hours after the snow has ceased if the snowfall is less than 4 inches and within 48 hours if the snowfall is more than 4 inches.
