Water Main Break Repairs / Traffic Alert
A MESSAGE FROM THE SOUTH RIVER DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
Due to water main break repairs taking place on Main Street between Reid Street and Stephen Street, area residents and businesses may experience low water pressure and/or discolored water. In addition, residents and businesses in the immediate area may lose water service during the repair process. Repairs will be taking place tomorrow, February 3rd beginning at 7:30am and are anticipated to be completed by evening.
Repairs are subject to being rescheduled due to weather.
While repairs are being made, traffic traveling westbound into South River via the Veterans Memorial Bridge will only be permitted to turn right onto Reid Street / Prospect Street. Traffic traveling eastbound towards Sayreville will be unaffected however, delays should be expected.
Motorists should expect delays in the area and plan another route, if possible.
Running your cold water for several minutes as well as flushing your toilets once or twice may clear up any discoloration in some cases. If experiencing discolored water, avoid doing laundry until the color returns to normal.
