Full Notification

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.
 
January 25^th
Vehicle Burglary – 1400 block of S. 56^th St.
At 7:59AM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect shattered the rear passenger side window of the victim’s 2003 Dodge Dakota and stole the vehicles front license plate which the victim kept in the glove box.  Also stolen was a checkbook and several gospel music tapes.  Occurred between January 24^th at 10:00PM and January 25^th at 7:50AM.

Vehicle Theft – 11780 San Pablo Ave.
At 9:46AM, an officer reports a black Nissan NV200 work van was stolen when the driver left the keys in the van while making a delivery.  The van was wrapped with a “Great American Cleaners” logo.   Occurred between 9:30-9:40AM.

Identity Theft – 800 block of Galvin Dr.
At 9:47AM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect opened a credit card account using the victim’s identifying information.  The victim has reported having identity theft issues for over 5 years.   

Shoplifting – Walgreen’s 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 11:51AM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect filled a trash bag full of merchandise and left without paying.  The suspect was described as male, 28-32 years old, 5’10” tall, wearing dark colored jeans, lime green Adidas shoes and a lime green windbreaker.  

Vandalism – 6500 Fairmount Ave.
At 1:49PM, an officer reports unknown suspects damaged the locked gate to the businesses dumpster area and pried open the dumpster.

Grand Theft – 400 block of Bonnie Dr.
At 4:07AM, an officer reports unknown suspects entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed property.

Vehicle Tampering – 500 block of Bonnie Dr.
At 4:22AM, an officer reports unknown suspects entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and ransacked the interior; no loss was reported.

January 26^th
Vehicle Theft – 5700 block of El Dorado St.
At 8:34AM, an officer reports the victim’s white 2000 Chevy van was stolen sometime overnight.
 
January 27^th
Vehicle Theft – 200 block of Ashbury Ave
At 8:50AM, an officer reports a white 2006 Chevy Silverado was stolen between 11:45PM on 1/26/22, and 8:10AM on 1/27/22.

Vehicle Theft – 1400 block of Navellier St: At 8:47AM, an officer was flagged down regarding the theft of a 1999 Chevy Express van which was taken sometime between 10:00PM on 1/26/22, and 8:45AM on 1/27/22.

Petty Theft – 7400 block of Fairmount Ave.
At 9:25PM, an officer reports unknown suspects removed both the front and rear license plate from the victim’s vehicle earlier that same day.
