Attempted Ruse Burglary

Today at approximately 1:10 p.m., the Frankfort Police Department responded to an attempted Ruse Burglary in the 400 block of Linden Court. The suspects claimed to work for a utility department and were allowed access into the home. At this time, nothing was taken from the residence, nor was anyone harmed.  The suspects were described as two white males wearing dark clothing.  During the incident, the suspects claimed they were at the residence for a downed tree in the backyard and a water issue.  The victims were asked to go basement with one suspect, while the other suspect remained upstairs. Please remember to verify the identity of any workers who approach your home. Legitimate workers should have credentials with them to verify their employment.  In most cases workers will not show up to your home unannounced.  Verification can also be done by finding and calling the employer’s listed telephone number.  If you are suspicious of a worker’s legitimacy, you should contact the police department for assistance. We continue to ask community members to call in ANY suspicious persons, vehicles, and incidents.
