City of Seward Reports Thirteen New COVID-19 Test Results Today

Seward, Alaska – Today, the City of Seward is reporting thirteen (13) new positive COVID-19 test results for all healthcare facilities.

The following advisory information was provided by the Alaska Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS):
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK

If you’re experiencing COVID symptoms, get tested  as soon as possible and, if you test positive, call your health care provider:

  • Stay home, except to get medical care.
  • Stay in a specific room and away from other people in your home. If possible, use a separate bathroom. If you must be around others, wear a mask.
  • Get plenty of rest and stay well hydrated.
  • Take over-the-counter medications, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol), to reduce symptoms. For acetaminophen, the total daily dose from all products should not exceed 3,000 mg.
  • Rest in the prone position (flat on your stomach) for easier breathing.
  • Engage in light physical activity, such as walking, if you can comfortably tolerate it.
Monitor your symptoms, and call your healthcare provider if symptoms get worse.
