Flood Advisory until 09:00AM Friday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and/or snowmelt and/or ice jam is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Schuylkill and York.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. Ice movement may lead to jams and blockages which hold water back like a dam, flooding upstream of the blockage. The ice jams may also release the pent up water suddenly, causing flooding downstream.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1237 AM EST, gauge reports indicated an ice jam and heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lancaster, Harrisburg, York, Lebanon, Chambersburg, Carlisle, Lower Allen, Hanover, Pottsville, Hershey, Ephrata, Weigelstown, Elizabethtown, Waynesboro, Columbia, Lititz, Mechanicsburg, Middletown, Millersville and Camp Hill. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
