On February 3, 2022, at approximately 10:28AM, a Corcoran Police Department Detective located a wanted juvenile near Whitley and 6 ½ Avenues. The 16 year old juvenile was wanted as a suspect in a previous assault with a deadly weapon (stabbing) case, which occurred in the City of Corcoran on August 20, 2021. In addition, the juvenile was also wanted for three active felony Kings County warrants for prior assault and firearms charges. Officers attempted to contact and arrest the juvenile; however he fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex. Officers established a perimeter and were able to locate and arrest the juvenile. Officers also located a firearm that was discarded by the juvenile during these events. The firearm did not depict a serial number and is commonly referred to as a “ghost” gun. The firearm also had a high-capacity magazine which was loaded with 12 rounds of live ammunition. The juvenile is a prohibited person from owning or possessing firearms and ammunition due to their age and prior felony convictions. The Juvenile was transported and booked at the Kings County Juvenile Center where he is being held without bail for numerous firearm and assault related charges.
