* WHAT...Clearing skies and very cold temperatures are forecast for tonight. Look for low temperatures across the Middle Red River Valley of Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas to reach the lower to middle teens. Low temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees will be possible across the Ouachita Mountains across Northern McCurtain County, Oklahoma. Further south near the I-20 Corridor of Northeast Texas, low temperatures will fall into the middle to upper teens.

* WHERE...Southeast Oklahoma, portions of Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Hard freeze conditions will possibly damage unprotected plumbing, including sprinklers.

Instructions:

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
