I thank Highway crews who made several runs starting in very early morning hours by pre-treating road surfaces of sleet and freezing rain, and then removing accumulated snow well into this evening. It makes for a very long and tiring day, and I greatly appreciate their dedication and effort to keep Town road open. Please remember that you can help Highway crews by not parking vehicles overnight on the street.
Today’s snow should improve conditions this weekend for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at Western Turnpike Golf Courses, and snowshoeing on hiking trails in Town parks and open spaces. The Winter Recreation Area, which is one-half mile past the entrance of Tawasentha Park, should have very good conditions for sledding. Please check out the Parks & Recreation webpage for the latest conditions.
I hope that you have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
Thank you for staying safe and calm.
