INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon / False Imprisonment/ Kidnapping
LOCATION: 18400 Block of Jonathan St., Adelanto
VICTIM: Female adult, 69 years-old
SUSPECT: Adan Cruz-Garibay, 34 years-old, of Adelanto
SUMMARY: On Friday, February 4, 2022, at 9:53 p.m., deputies received a call from St. Mary Hospital emergency room, regarding a 69-year-old patient who was the victim of an assault.
According to the victim the suspect, Adan Cruz-Garibay who is known to her, became angry with her and started a verbal argument. The victim tried to lock herself in the bathroom and call 911. However, Cruz-Garibay drug her into another room and assaulted her. The victim suffered multiple injuries as a result of the attack.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cruz-Garibay and a search for his whereabouts was initiated. On Monday, February 7, 2022, Deputy C. Alfred located Cruz-Garibay and arrested him without incident. Cruz-Garibay is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $150,000.00 bail.
