DRONE PURCHASE 
Gilkey Lumber & Parton Lumber Company provided funding to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, to enable the purchase of a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise drone.
The drone was purchased from AXON, who also is the Sheriff’s Office’s body camera provider.
The drone has a digital zoom camera that has IR capabilities, can take still photos and video. All the evidence obtained is stored on the platform offered by Axon.
The drone will be utilized to search for missing persons, fleeing suspects, provide “over watch” for the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team and mapping out large crime scenes.
