Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on February 11, 2022 at approximately 3:16 PM his deputies were called to a single vehicle traffic crash on Atwood Road north of Morton Street in Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan. 49-year-old, Dowagiac resident,   Rhonda Weaver was traveling southbound on Atwood Road when she lost control of the vehicle overturning it in a drainage ditch.  Weaver was transported to Borgess-Lee hospital for injuries that she sustained in the crash.

A seatbelt was worn at the time of the accident and alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting at the scene was Dowagiac Police Department, Dowagiac Fire Department, Wayne Township Fire, and Pacific Pride ambulance service.
