On 02-11-2022, Suspect in Catalytic Converters theft apprehended by BHPD officers
On February 11, 2022, at about 3:28 pm Cpl. Holloway # 1449 was flagged down by a citizen in the parking lot of Lake Artemisia. A citizen advised Cpl. Hollowell that he saw an unknown Hispanic male wearing a black puffy coat removing a catalytic converter from a blue Honda CRV bearing Maryland license plate MSL2642. As the BHPD officers arrived, the suspect fled the scene on foot through the creek and wooded area. Sgt. Roberson #1445 Pvt. Herriott #1454 and Pvt. Lowndes #1456 canvassed the area for the said Hispanic male. Pvt. Herriott found the unknown Hispanic male hiding behind a tree with a red duffle bag in his possession. A search of the red duffle bag revealed a cut catalytic converter belonging to the victim’s vehicle a 2006 blue Honda CRV. The unknown Hispanic male was later identified as Edward Monge, a 21 Y/O, W/H/M of Beltsville, MD. He was placed under arrest for theft from auto.
