Incident:         Fatal Traffic Collision
Location:        Sycamore Ave. / San Bernardino Ave., Rialto
Decedent:       Miguel Aguilar, 26-Year-Old, Resident of Riverside
 
SYNOPSIS:
 
On Saturday, February 12, 2022, at approximately 1:05 a.m., the Colton Police Department was dispatched to the area of Sycamore Ave., and San Bernardino Ave., for a single-vehicle traffic collision.  The Colton Police Department and Colton Fire Department responded to the scene.  The fire department determined the driver and sole occupant (later identified as Miguel Aguilar) died from his injuries at the scene. 
 
The Rialto Police Department responded to the scene, where it was determined the collision occurred within the city limits of Rialto.  The collision is still under investigation, but roadway evidence indicates the driver was south on Sycamore Ave., failed to stop for the posted stop sign and continued through the intersection and collided with the elevated storm drain.
