UPDATE:
 
On 02/14/2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the San Jose Police Department conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Monterey Road and Rancho Drive in San Jose.  The 13-year-old youth and primary suspect in this case fled from the vehicle.  San Jose Police officers chased the youth and took him into custody where they located a loaded 9mm handgun in his waistband.  The youth was transported to Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall and booked into their custody on charges of resisting arrest, possession of a firearm and attempted homicide.                                                            

 
SHOOTING AT SUN VALLEY MARKET
 
On February 11, 2022, at approximately 4:38 p.m., Morgan Hill police officers responded to the Sun Valley Market, located at 16725 Monterey Road, to investigate the report of a shooting.  MHPD officers arrived on scene and determined a verbal altercation occurred between several male subjects.  At one point during the altercation, the male suspect, described as a Hispanic male juvenile with curly hair, brandished a handgun and fired one time at the victim.  The bullet did not strike the victim and he was subsequently uninjured.  The male suspect immediately ran north across Monterey Road and into the Crossings Apartment complex, located at 16800 Monterey Road.  Morgan Hill Police officers and deputies from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the area, however, they were unable to locate the suspect. 
 
The suspect in this case has been identified; however, he has not been apprehended and his whereabouts are unknown.  If you have knowledge of this incident or the whereabouts of the suspect, please consider him armed and dangerous and call 9-1-1.
