THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 4 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts
possible and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch. North winds are expected to gust to 40 or 45 mph at times on Thursday.
* WHERE...Portions of Central, South Central and Southeast
Kansas.
* WHEN...From this evening through Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility, especially on Thursday.
The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday morning and Thursday evening commutes. The combination of gusty winds and the weight of snow and ice could bring down tree branches and lead to scattered power outages.
