Flood Advisory until 04:30PM Thursday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and/or snowmelt is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following counties, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa and Van Buren.

* WHEN...Until 430 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1037 PM EST, As of 1030 pm...an area of moderate to occasionally heavy rain was tracking through the advisory area. Rain gages indicate that up to a half inch of rain has fallen in parts of the advisory area. Snowmelt has been ongoing through the day and into the evening. Streams and creeks were starting to rise including Buck Creek in Kent County and the Macatawa River in Ottawa County. Looking upstream...the heavy rain extends into northern Illinois. The area of rain is headed towards the advisory area. As a result...another half inch to inch of rain will be possible through the night. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Portage, Holland, Grand Haven, Hastings, Battle Creek, Allegan, South Haven, Lowell, Paw Paw, Wyoming, Kentwood, Walker, Grandville, East Grand Rapids, Hudsonville, Eastwood, Rockford and Zeeland. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
