Nature of Release: Fatal Traffic Collision

Location of Incident: Intersection of Crescent Avenue and Watson Street, Cypress
Case Number: 22-00503
On February 15, 2022, at 5:40 p.m., the Cypress Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic accident near Crescent Avenue and Watson Street. Within minutes, the first officers arrived on the scene and discovered the traffic collision involving four vehicles, with one car fully engulfed in flames after colliding into an electrical pole. The Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived soon after, extinguished the fire, and located a deceased adult male inside the vehicle.
The Serious Traffic Accident Response (STAR) team is handling this investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision should contact Cypress Police Department Traffic Officer Dowdell at (714) 229-6603. The driver's identity is not being released at this time.
