Winter Storm Watch until 07:00AM Friday

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 16 inches possible.

* WHERE...Valdez and Thompson Pass.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A mix of rain and snow will develop across the Valdez area by late Thursday morning. Mixed rain/snow is then expected to transition to all snow by Thursday afternoon. Heavy snow is possible late Thursday afternoon through early Friday morning with snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour at times. There is still some uncertainty as to the exact timing of the transition of rain to snow. Any prolonged rain/snow mix would reduce expected snow accumulations.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND
