Winter Weather Advisory until 09:00AM Friday

* WHAT...Snow and rain expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 8 inches. Highest amounts north of the Parks Highway and northeast of Palmer.

* WHERE...Matanuska Valley.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Thursday to 9 AM AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will overspread the Matanuska Valley Thursday morning. The snow is expected to transition to a mix of rain/snow by early Thursday afternoon, especially from Wasilla south and east. The precipitation is expected to remain all snow north and west of Palmer. 2 to 4 inches of snow is possible from Big Lake to Wasilla and Palmer with snow amounts closer to 4 to 8 inches for locations north of the Parks Highway and along the Glenn Highway near Sutton. Mixed rain and snow is expected to transition back to all snow by early Friday morning before tapering off.
