Flood Advisory until 12:00PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by heavy rain and recent snowmelt is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois and northwest Indiana, including the following counties, in Illinois, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, La Salle, Livingston and Will. In northwest Indiana, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 240 AM CST, snow melt Wednesday and Wednesday night are occurring, and will cause minor flooding. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. Combined with snow melt and rain that has fallen, this additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hammond, Gary, Portage, Merrillville, Valparaiso, East Chicago, Schererville, Hobart, Kankakee, Crown Point, Highland, Munster, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Streator, Chesterton, Pontiac, Cedar Lake, Lowell and Manteno. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
