Douglas “Chase” Arfman, (35) of Meridian, was booked on three (3) felony counts Injury to Child; one (1) felony count of Malicious Injury to Property and one (1) felony count of Discharge of a Firearm at an Occupied Dwelling.

MERIDIAN — On February 17, 2022, at approximately 6:30 am, Meridian Police Department was dispatched to an area near Linder Rd. and McMillan Rd. for reports of shots fired. Initial information indicated an adult male was shooting firearm at unknown subjects in and around his residence. Officers quickly established the male was in a state of mental health crisis. Officers were able to quickly de-escalate the situation and bring the male subject into custody. Several houses in the area were struck by bullets, but fortunately no one was injured. Steps were put in place to keep surrounding schools safe.
The Meridian Police Department is continuing its investigation at this time to determine what or if any charges will be brought forward.
