* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Ohio, including the following counties, Mahoning and Portage.
* WHEN...Until 500 PM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1035 AM EST, At 1030 AM EST, the Ohio Department of Transportation continues to report roads closed due to flooding in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain fell across this area on Thursday. - Flood waters are receding across the region this morning and road conditions are expected to slowly improve this afternoon. However, State Route 165 in Mahoning County and State Route 44 in southern Portage County remain impacted by high water. Additional flooding is occurring around the Mahoning River and nearby tributaries, impacting additional areas in eastern Mahoning County. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
