Declaration of Harper Woods Snow Emergency.

THE CITY OF HARPER WOODS IS DECLARING A SNOW EMERGENCY TO GO INTO EFFECT AT 11:30 A.M. TODAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2022.

THE SNOW EMERGENCY WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 48 HOURS AFTER IT HAS STOPPED SNOWING, UNLESS THE SNOW EMERGENCY IS EXTENDED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE.

IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL TO PARK A MOTOR VEHICLE ON ANY STREET DURING THE EMERGENCY AND ALL PERMITS FOR ON-STREET PARKING ISSUED UNDER SECTION 25-4 OF THE CODE ARE NOT VALID DURING A DECLARED SNOW EMERGENCY.

THE CITY OF HARPER WOODS REQUIRES THAT THE OWNER AND/OR OCCUPANT OF ANY PREMISES OR LOT KEEP THE SIDEWALKS IN FRONT OF OR ADJACENT TO SUCH PREMISES CLEARED FROM SNOW AND ICE TO FACILITATE PEDESTRIAN USE.

WHENEVER SNOW AND ICE HAS FALLEN OR ACCUMULATED IT SHALL BE CLEARED WITHIN (36) HOURS AFTER IT HAS FALLEN OR ACCUMULATED. IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL TO DEPOSIT SNOW ONTO ANY PUBLIC SIDEWALK, RIGHT OF WAY, STREET OR NEIGHBORING PROPERTY.
