Special Weather Statement Alert:
Snow Squall Approaching The Area
A fast moving and intense snow squall along an arctic cold front is currently approaching the area as it moves eastward from central PA and upstate NY.
This squall may start to weaken as it moves into portions of eastern PA and northern NJ but may still be capable of producing a brief rapid drop in visibility to a quarter mile or less in heavy snow along with winds gusting to 50 mph.
Expect the line of snow showers and potential squalls to arrive in Berks County northward through the Lehigh Valley and the southern Poconos within the 1 to 2 PM timeframe and reach northwestern New Jersey within the 2 to 3 PM timeframe.
The most intense portion of any squalls should last no more than 10 to 15 minutes at any one location.
