Busy night for Police: Officers Respond to a Robbery, Drug Overdose and a Stolen Trailer

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – February 19, 2022– The Hollister Police Department responded to several priority calls for service; a strong-arm robbery to a juvenile victim, a fentanyl overdose and a stolen trailer.

On February 17, 2022, at about 8 p.m. officers were dispatched to a strong-arm robbery where a 16-year-old juvenile was knocked unconscious and robbed. The juvenile reported that 3 unknown males robbed and assaulted him. The 3 male suspects left the area before police arrived. This incident occurred on the 1700 block of Airline Highway. This incident is still an active investigation and police are asking for any possible witnesses to please come forward.

At about 9 p.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of North Street on a drug overdose call. Upon arrival, officers observed a 22-year-old female laying on the ground unconscious with a faint pulse and shallow breathing. Officers learned that the female had overdosed on Fentanyl laced pills and two doses of Naloxone were administered by Officer Solis. Officer Solis’ quick thinking helped save her life from an opioid overdose. The woman was later transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Later in the shift, at about 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Fourth Street on a vehicle theft report. A security officer reported someone had entered the storage yard, connected a trailer to a truck and drove out of the yard by ramming through the security gates.  The suspect caused over $3,000 in damage to the gates.

A description of the suspect vehicle and stolen trailer was broadcast to all law enforcement personnel and San Benito County Sheriff Sgt. Uribe located the suspect vehicle traveling on Highway 156 heading away from the city. SBSO deputies and HPD officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, Allen Bossard (42), from Los Banos. Officers confirmed Bossard was in possession of the stolen trailer and matched the description of the suspect.  Bossard was subsequently arrested and charged with grand theft, possession of stolen property, felony vandalism and trespassing.
