Winter Storm Warning until 11:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet...with 3 to 4 feet over favored highest terrain. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Southwest San Juan Mountains, Grand and Battlement Mesas and West Elk and Sawatch Mountains.

* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 11 AM MST Thursday. Greatest impacts are expected tonight and Tuesday morning, and again Tuesday night through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel will become extremely hazardous due to near whiteout conditions in periods of heavy snow and blowing snow. Plan on icy and snowpacked roadways and significant drifting snow. A detailed map of the snowfall can be found at: www.weather.gov/gjt/winter.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GRAND AND BATTLEMENT MESAS ... WEST ELK AND SAWATCH MOUNTAINS ... SOUTHWEST SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS
