Othello man arrested for burglary at Commercial Tire
MOSES LAKE, Wash. (20FEB2022) – During the early morning hours Sunday, Grant County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, as well as Moses Lake Police Officers, responded to an alarm at Commercial Tire on the North Frontage RD, east of Moses Lake.
When deputies and officers arrived, they began checking the rear of the business and located a hole in the outside fence. Moses Lake Police Department K9 Jester was called to assist with searching the business.
During the K9 search, 41-year-old Roberto Robles Mejia was located inside the business hiding in a stack of tires. It appears Robles Mejia was in the process of cutting a catalytic converter from a school bus that was secured inside Commercial Tire. Robles Mejia was located prior to any damage done to the school bus.
Robles Mejia was arrested and lodged in the Grant County Jail for Burglary, Attempted Theft, and Malicious Mischief.
“This is just another great example of teamwork by both the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Moses Lake Police Department to catch a burglar”, said Sheriff Jones.
