One arrested for armed robbery in Sheboygan
On 02/23/22 at approximately 7:10 PM, the Sheboygan Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery in the 1500 block of S. 8th St. A gas station clerk reported that a masked man, armed with a knife, demanded the money from the till. The suspect fled after receiving cash from the clerk. No one was hurt during this incident.
Responding Officers set up a perimeter and completed a neighborhood canvass. Officers were able to view video of the incident and developed a suspect. Around 11:00 PM, officers located the suspect who was taken to jail. The suspect is a 38 year-old resident of Watertown, WI. We are referring charges to the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office for Armed Robbery.
The Sheboygan Police Department recognizes that situations of this nature are extremely traumatic to the victim. We commend the victim for her ability to remain calm and provide the responding officers with information critical to resolving this incident. We will refer the victim to the Victim Witness Unit of the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office for appropriate support services. We are also grateful for the many citizens and businesses who cooperated and provided information to bring this situation to a resolution.
